Distinguish between AV and RCA interfaces

Composite video interface (AV interface or Video interface), was once the most common kind of video interface, almost all televisions, DVD players have this interface. It is audio, video separation of video interfaces, generally by the yellow, white, red 3-way three independent RCA plugs (also known as the plum interface, RCA interface) composed of, among them, the V interface to connect the mixed video signals, for the yellow jack; L interface to connect to the left channel sound signals, for the white jack; R interface to connect to the right channel sound signals, for the red jack.

Composite video interface has two kinds of terminals: RCA terminal and BNC terminal, RCA terminal is usually called Lotus head and Lotus seat, BNC terminal is the BNC head and BNC seat. RCA terminal can be used in the composite video interface, but also can be used in the audio interface, if used in the audio interface, usually also called 3.5 Lotus head (seat).

Composite video interface: composite video (Composite Video) signal is defined as a single analog signal including luminance and chrominance, that is, from the full TV signal after the separation of the accompanying video signal, the chrominance signal is still interpolated in the luminance signal at the high end. Because the luminance and chrominance of composite video are interpolated together, it is difficult to restore completely consistent color when the signal is replayed.

CVBS is a widely used standard, also called baseband video or RCA video, and is the legacy image data transmission method for National Television System Committee (NTSC) television signals, which transmit data in an analog waveform.

CVBS composite video signal interface, also commonly known as the RCA interface. Commonly known as the Lotus socket, also known as the AV terminal, also known as AV interface; is by far the most common type of audio / video terminals.RCA audio terminals are generally in pairs with a different color labeling: the right channel with red, the left channel with black or white. Generally speaking, RCA stereo audio cables are grouped into left and right channels, with each channel appearing as a single cable. Usually come in pairs of audio connector right channel (red) left channel (white) and video connector (yellow)

Composite video (Composite) usually uses the yellow RCA (Lotus connector). "Composite" means the analog signal that transmits luminance and chrominance signals in the same channel, but if the TV set cannot separate these two signals well, it will have a false image. Audio and video interfaces are used in pairs, usually white audio interface and yellow video interface, using RCA (Lotus head) for connection, use only need to connect the standard AV cable with lotus head with the corresponding interface (but some need software support).

V composite (Composite) video interface, is an analog interface, audio, video separation of video interfaces, generally by the yellow, white, red 3-way three independent RCA plug (also known as the plum blossom interface, RCA interface) composed of the V interface to connect to the mixed video signals, for the yellow jack; L interface to connect to the left channel of the sound signal, for the white jack; R interface to connect to the right channel of the sound signal, for the red jack red jack

Since the video signal does not contain accompanying sound, so generally with the video input and output ports supporting the audio input and output ports (Audio In, Audio Out), in order to synchronize the transmission of accompanying sound. Therefore, sometimes the composite video interface is also called AV (Audio Video) port.
